The Thai National Shippers' Council said Tuesday that it expects Thailand's exports to grow 4% this year, up from a previous estimate of 2% growth, and 1% to 3% in 2025.
The economy's key driver, exports, grew 14.6% in October compared to the same month last year and 4.9% annually in the first 10 months of 2024.
Thai rice exports reached 9.27 million metric tonnes in the first 11 months of 2024, up 16.6% from the same period last year, according to a statement released by the Commerce Ministry on Tuesday.
According to the ministry, as India resumes rice exports, Thailand, the world's second-largest rice exporter after India, may see a decline in rice shipments in 2025.
