According to the commerce and industry ministry on Thursday, the Network Planning Group convened on June 21 and assessed eight infrastructure projects from the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) and the railways, totaling Rs 18,000 crore. Two projects involved railways, and six were for the NICDC.
All projects were assessed for integrated planning and compliance with PM GatiShakti principles during the meeting. The socioeconomic advantages, better connectivity, lower transit costs, and increased efficiency were emphasized.
The estimated cost of the railway project, which ran from Manmad to Jalgaon, was Rs 2,594 crore. The other project, which would run from Bhusawal to Burhanpur, would cost Rs 3,285 crore.
The statement went on to say that the four NICDC projects, which are expected to cost Rs 8,175 crore, are focused on creating integrated manufacturing clusters in the Indian states of Hisar in Haryana, Gaya in Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh's Agra and Prayagraj. With an estimated investment of Rs 5,367 crore, two projects from NICDC involve the development of Kopparthy Industrial Area in YSR Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh and Oravakal Industrial Area in Kurnool district.
