01. Irrevocable Letter Of Credit At Sight

One of the most established and professionally recognised payment mechanisms in international trade.

An Irrevocable Letter of Credit (LC) at sight establishes a formal banking commitment backed by stringent documentary conditions and clearly stipulated payment obligations. It places payment within a recognised international banking framework rather than leaving it dependent on informal assurances.

How the safeguards work:

  • Bank Credibility: The buyer arranges the LC through a recognised, first-class international bank acceptable to both parties.
  • Seller’s Review: The seller’s bank examines the LC. The seller can reject it if the issuing bank or its terms are unacceptable.
  • Precisely Defined Conditions: The LC specifies the required documents and the conditions governing payment.
  • Shipment After Acceptance: Goods are dispatched once the seller accepts the LC and the agreed arrangements are in place.
  • Stringent Documentary Examination: The seller presents the stipulated shipping documents through the banking channel. The issuing bank examines them against the LC’s terms.
  • Payment at Sight: Payment is made in accordance with the LC when the presentation complies with its requirements.

The LC provides a robust, bank-governed payment framework with formal obligations, prescribed documentary requirements, and a defined basis for payment. Its irrevocable nature prevents unilateral cancellation or amendment by the issuing bank and applicant without the required consent under the applicable rules.

02. 30% Advance + 70% Against Shipping Documents

A widely used trade payment arrangement built around firm financial commitments and rigorous documentary accountability.

This mechanism combines an upfront payment with a contractually defined process governing the release of the outstanding balance. Both stages are established before the transaction proceeds.

How the safeguards work:

  • 30% Advance: The buyer transfers the agreed advance through the banking channel under strict contractual terms.
  • Shipment: The seller dispatches the goods in accordance with the contract.
  • Bank-to-Bank Documentation: The seller’s bank forwards the stipulated proof-of-dispatch and shipping documents to the buyer’s bank.
  • Documentary Verification: The buyer’s bank examines the documents against the agreed requirements.
  • Release of Remaining 70%: The balance is released in accordance with the contract and applicable banking arrangements once the specified conditions are met.

This structure establishes firm payment milestones, explicit contractual responsibilities, and documentary conditions governing the outstanding balance. The seller receives the agreed advance, while the remaining payment follows a defined process rather than an unspecified payment promise.

NO ROOM FOR PAYMENT AMBIGUITY.

Tradologie applies a strict, exclusive payment framework to facilitated agri-trade transactions. Only the two prescribed mechanisms are permitted within this framework.

  • No Alternative Mechanisms: Transactions cannot proceed through other payment arrangements facilitated by Tradologie.
  • No Undefined Conditions: Payment obligations and release requirements are established in advance.
  • No Compromise on Banking Acceptance: Both parties must accept the participating banks.
  • Documentary Accountability: Payment is governed by the conditions of the agreed mechanism.

Every transaction begins with defined payment obligations, follows a prescribed banking structure, and remains subject to its agreed documentary requirements.
