Russia will have roughly 50 million metric tons of wheat available for export in the 2024-2025 growing season. At the "Crop Production of Russia'' conference, Dmitry Rylko, the director general of the Russian Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR), made this announcement. This number is far less than it was during the prior season (which is determined by ROSNG, which is updated in July of each year). Various estimates put it at 62 million tons back then, including 29-30 million tons of wheat. It is important to note that the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and even many European Union nations receive their wheat and grains from Russia. For a number of years running, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Bangladesh, Egypt, Yemen, and a few other nations have been important buyers. Worldwide, more than 120 different nations buy grain from Russia.

High Wheat Harvest Predicted

The expert clarified that the revised estimate is predicated on a 93 million tons possible harvest. He claims that this is only a conservative estimate and that the actual harvest may be considerably larger. 93 million tons is still a lot, though. This once more ensures that we will export 50 million tons of wheat, which is almost a record that the entire world anticipates from us," he said. Rylko projected that 147 million tons of grain will be harvested overall.

As per the expert's assessment, there have been no discernible adverse factors impacting the upcoming harvest in any of the Russian grain-producing areas thus far. "You can always find something to nitpick, but overall we don't see anything bad," he stated. The previous high for both grain and wheat harvests was over 157.6 and 86 million tons, respectively, in 2022. In the past, the greatest harvest across a number of years was harvested in 2017 and totaled over 135.5 million tons, including 86.003 million tons of wheat. 92.8 million tons of wheat were gathered by farmers out of a total harvest of 144.9 million tons of grain in the preceding season.
