The export of non-basmati white rice has been prohibited by India. Due to crop damage and production concerns brought on by the delayed monsoon rains, the government issued a notice on the 20th of July, ordering a halt to the export of non-basmati white rice.

Cambodia exported approximately 2,575 tonnes of rice to the Philippine market for the first time, Oknha Chan Sokheang, President of the Cambodian Rice Federation, confirmed this on the 26th of June.

The Government is planning to increase the country’s highway construction target for the current fiscal year,which may now be pegged higher at around 14,000 km, up from 12,500 km set at the start of the year.

According to its director general Ronnarong Phoolpipat, the Department of Foreign Trade is leading efforts to increase Thai jasmine rice sales in China and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR).
